Johnny Mahan Speaks at JCC Truck Driver School Graduation

Our Safety Manager, Johnny Mahan had the honor of speaking at the Johnson County Community College NC Truck Driver Training School Graduation yesterday.
Johnny has been honored by being selected as a NCTA Road Team Captain. In an effort to promote highway safety and inform the general public about the trucking industry, the North Carolina Trucking Association, through the NC Trucking Association Foundation, formed the North Carolina Road Team. The Road Team consists of commercial truck drivers who excel at their profession and are dedicated to safety, courtesy, and responsibility.
The men and women selected each year to serve on the North Carolina Road Team must be full time commercial truck drivers with excellent safe driving records, and must have the ability to relate the positive safety aspects of the transportation industry and its importance to a vibrant economy.
Presentations include school assemblies, driver education classes, business events, civic gatherings, safe driver banquets, driver meetings, and career events. Nominations to participate must be received by May 15th each year. Road Team members serve one-year terms, but “alumni” frequently assist with large events, such as the North Carolina State Fair. Judges that select the NC Road Team each year include representatives of the NC State Highway Patrol, its Motor Carrier Enforcement Section, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Governor’s Highway Safety Program.
You can find out more about the NC Road Team or to request a member of the NC Road Team to speak at your event at the NCTA website.
We are proud of Johnny and all the NC Road Team!!
